A Community String Orchestra for all ages and skills
Summer 2024 begins June10
The Summer A.C. Strings Orchestra meets every Monday evening in the summer at the Abiding Christ Lutheran Church in Fairborn, Ohio. This is a community orchestra that welcomes players of all ages and multiple skill levels.
There are three levels of participation. The beginner level is for beginner note readers and meets from 6:00-6:45. The intermediate and advanced reader levels meet from 6:00-8:30. As an extra bonus, the A.C. Strings combine with the Fairborn Civic Band to perform as the Fairborn Regional Orchestra.
The summer string program culminates in two concerts. The first is a brief concert at the Fairborn Corn Festival, and the second is a full concert at the Abiding Christ Lutheran Church. The 2024 schedule will be posted soon. Please contact me for more information at (937) 925-3367 or pippaburgess@gmail.com
The directors are Kathy Johnston (who founded the String Orchestra in 1997) and Phillipa Burgess (who teaches violin and piano, as well as music at Sinclair Community College, Cedarville University, and Stivers School for the Performing Arts).
